All our associates are on a professional journey: whether it's about broadening, deepening, sustaining or leading in this roles. At Vandemoortele, we want to give all our associates the chance to develop and grow, to realise their professional dreams. Based on input from our associates, we developed a framework for sustainable human resource management, leading to two programmes accessible for everyone: Growth 4 People and People 4 Growth.

Growth 4 People / People 4 Growth

The Growth 4 People programme offers a variety of opportunities for development, in order for everyone to flourish in their jobs and throughout their professional journey, while our People 4 Growth programme makes it possible for us to attract, develop and retain the right people for the right job, allowing us to grow as a company.

Growth 4 People led to the launch of a broad mentoring programme and a young graduates community within Vandemoortele. In 2021, these two new career initiatives set sail.

Young Graduates

With our two-year Young Graduates programme, we give recently graduated students the chance to learn, network and gain more experience. Our young graduates organise monthly workshops with department heads, and work on a cross-functional strategic project in which they collaborate with each other as well as senior management.

MENTORING

Our goal is to develop a mentoring culture as well. Coming together and learning from each other has grown in importance. More than ever, we feel the need to create informal touchpoints between colleagues. 

Mentoring is a dynamic, supportive relationship between two individuals. In this, the focus lies on the development of the mentee: within the current role and in the future. In our mentoring culture, associates can find and support each other in developing personally and professionally outside a hierarchical frame.

Tine Hanssens (34) has been a part of our company for 11 years. She has a degree as Bio Engineer, and is working as Master Data Manager at Ghent HQ: "Participating in the mentorship programme has been a great experience for me, both as a mentor and as a mentee. As a mentee, I was challenged to think outside the box and gained new insights, thanks to the advice and knowledge provided by the mentors. As a mentor, it has been a rewarding experience to be able to guide and encourage mentees in their career paths. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to grow in their career and help others grow."
