By becoming a member of the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action (BACA), Vandemoortele joined forces with leading organizations in Belgium to further developing our sustainability agenda through Science Based targets and to incentivize our supply chains to act accordingly.

The urgency is only increasing as the impacts of climate change are already felt today. In Belgium, it is heatwaves, flooding and drought that are the main climate hazards in Belgium.

Consumers want organizations to take action and prefer those that care about environmental issues. A recent study by Nielsen Global Media found that 81% of global respondents feel strongly that companies should help improve the environment

Only through accurate carbon accounting we can measure progress towards our individual and collective emissions reduction targets. By looking at climate science, we can measure the gap between what we need and what we are doing and mobilize efforts that add up to what is needed to limit global warming with the least negative impact.
