Reducing CO2 emissions with our first electric truck in France

We are proud to share that since September 2023, our first 'Vandemoortele Transport Solutions' e-truck has been making daily trips between our French production sites and warehouses.

Currently, our e-truck completes about 3 roundtrips daily, covering an average of 200 kilometres. This translates into a reduction of 40 tonnes of CO2 annually. "The truck doesn't make any noise", says our driver Valentin Ezanno, "It's really pleasant to drive.”

In our company, we have a lot of ongoing projects to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide, from our production processes. Besides minimising our energy consumption, we also maximise the use of sustainable and renewable energy sources. And we ensure that the fossil fuels that we use, are used in an efficient manner.

Vandemoortele is aware of its ecological responsibility as a food company. Striving for zero carbon emissions is only one of our commitments in our goal of 'Protecting Nature'.
