We combine our financial results and our sustainability results into a single integrated annual report. In this way, we offer our stakeholders a clear, concise, and coherent story. Sustainability is embedded at the heart of our business, so the choice for an integrated report seems logical.

Despite all kinds of political and economic struggles, sustainability remained a hot topic in 2022. Chief Human Resources, Sustainability and Communication, Marc Croonen: “We stayed on track for all our Balanced Nutrition targets. Throughout the year, we reduced our water consumption and further lowered the number of food safety complaints. We also made good progress in terms of gender diversity & inclusion”.

Quote Marc Croonen sustainability

“Year after year, we manage to achieve most of our targets. Nevertheless, we also face some challenges. After the COVID-19 years, our production volumes rapidly increased again, and we had to reinforce our teams with new and less experienced associates. As a result, our progress in terms of work safety stalled. We are taking measures to remedy this. We are also searching for new ways to further reduce our food losses. Our biggest challenge and target will be achieving net zero CO2-emissions by 2050, in line with the Science Based Target initiative”.

We communicate transparently about both our positive and our negative impacts. We see that sustainability is now well embedded in our processes, procedures and our culture.
