TODAY, IN HONOUR OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, WE ARE CELEBRATING and honouring OUR FEMALE COLLEAGUES FROM ALL VANDEMOORTELE LOCATIONS BY EMBRACING EQUITY.
This year, International Women's Day has selected 'embracing equity' as its annual theme. At Vandemoortele, too, we have set out a number of commitments in advance to promote gender equity and equality.
We are committed to safeguard the representation of women in selection procedures, ensure women have the same career opportunities as men, and commit to equal pay for equal work. We also take measures to increase the number of women in management positions, especially in senior management. Although we appoint associates on the basis of their competences, we make recruitment decisions in light of this goal if the skills of different candidates are equal.
This year's statement of embracing equity is a global call to work for inclusiveness, diversity, and equality. By supporting this message, we can all speak out against stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. The International Women's Day organisation has stated: "Collective activism is the driver of change. We can all embrace justice. Equality is the goal, and justice is the means to that end."
