We see it as our responsibility to ensure that our products do not contribute to plastic pollution. At Vandemoortele we commit that by the end of 2025 all our plastic packaging will be recyclable, re-usable or compostable.

Our approach is rolled out on three levels, a global commitment, a corporate sustainable packaging strategy and a new plastic packaging sourcing charter.

Our commitment to the 'New Plastics Economy' objectives

We have endorsed the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment from The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the leading organisation on circular economy. This commitment builds further upon the new packaging strategy of Vandemoortele  by focusing on 4 key action areas:

  1. Reducing waste during production and in offices
  2. Minimizing packaging material
  3. Working towards 100% recycled, reusable or compostable packaging
  4. Raising awareness of consumers and customers

In addition, we commit to include 25% recycled PET in our branded bottles. Our commitments and actions are supported by this plastic packaging sourcing charter.
