Everyone is on a professional journey: be it to broaden, deepen, sustain or lead. Based on input from our associates, we developed a framework for sustainable human resource management, consisting of three programmes, which are used as a starting point for various HR actions and initiatives. Our People 4 Growth programme allows us to attract, develop and retain the right people for the right job, and to grow as a company. Growth 4 People is a programme where we offer our associates a variety of opportunities for development, in order for them to flourish in their jobs and throughout their professional journey. The Leaders 4 Growth programme ensures us that we have strong leaders on board who make both the company and our people grow.

A SAFE CULTURE

Offering a safe culture in which everyone is free to try out new paths and make mistakes without worrying about blowing up all bridges is key within our company. When leaders are genuinely interested in team members’ interests, hopes and dreams, it becomes easier to talk about hard things.

We encourage our people to take the time to reflect on what they're good at and what they would like to see differently, as this is the first step. Deciding where they would like to be is the second one. Maybe you want a promotion or move internally to another position? Then it is good to look into which courses or steps might help you get there. Because even the smallest steps will help boost your confidence and put you on the path towards becoming the best version of yourself.

To turn intention into reality, action is needed. Because dreams don’t magically come true, and goals aren’t achieved overnight.

OPEN ATMOSPHERE

Personal development can mean all sorts of things. From becoming more self-aware, to further developing your natural skills, becoming better at time or money management, or integrating a healthier diet; development is a hugely personal matter.

A good starting point for our associates might be to set up a personal meeting with their manager. By doing so, they're creating an open atmosphere to freely speak their mind and where it’s okay to receive personal feedback in order to encourage, guide and motivate them. Once the goals have been set, they are ready to start working towards them, meanwhile boosting their happiness at work.
