1. In November 2022, we opened a Vandemoortele office in Shanghai.

Vandemoortele China opened on the 1st of November, to support our growth in the Asian markets. Last year, our Export team showcased our Bakery Products in major trade fairs in China and Singapore for the first time.

2. Our donut flowpacks contain 85% less plastic than our blisters.

The flowpacks are partly made of cardboard. Switching from blister packs to flowpacks has resulted in a 40% reduction in the carbon footprint and also a logistics advantage, since we can add 39% more packs to each pallet.

3. Vandemoortele counts 2862 permanent & temporary blue-collar workers.

Of our 2217 permanent blue collars, 1.612 are men and 605 are women. We also have 645 temporary blue collars.

4. In 2022, we launched our first E-free Gold Cup® margarine.

In 2020, we started a project to eliminate as many E numbers (food additives) as possible from our Gold Cup® professional margarine range. This led to the development of our first E-free Gold Cup® margarine.

5. We have 75 R&D colleagues working in teams across Europe.

Our Research & Development team members come from various backgrounds, such as bakers, food and packaging technologists, pilot operators, sensory experts and researchers.

6. In 2022, we got 57% less food safety complaints, compared to 2016.

We are working to increase this number to 63% by 2025.

7. From Europe, we currently export our products to 70 countries worldwide.

8. Compared to 2020, we had a 30% decrease in the emissions of the transport activities with our own fleet. 

Our long-term goal is to achieve Net Zero. A huge challenge, but we are fully committed to it!
