There are a lot of skilled people here, and it’s a great place for young people with not a lot of experience to learn and build their skills. I started as a trainee seven years ago and now I’m responsible for big impactful projects, and I really enjoy it. People can really develop from small responsibilities to really important projects.
They’re really hot on self-development, both professional and personal. The amount of training available is great. They know my ambitions and have invested in training to improve my skills. For instance, they’ve just paid for me to learn Dutch, which was quite an investment as I couldn’t speak one word of it before! They’re very open minded about what you want to study, they really want you to develop yourself.
IN R&D WE ARE WORKING ON NEW CHALLENGES AND PRODUCTS EVERY DAY, AND I AM GROWING PERSONALLY EVERY DAY.
I am very curious and it’s really important to me that I keep learning and improving. I wouldn’t be surprised if I were still here in ten years’ time, as I think Vandemoortele can offer me more than if I were to keep moving around.
I get to think creatively all the time.
I am constantly thinking how can we make this packaging look more attractive, or how can we produce it more efficiently? There are always new production lines coming in, things are always changing, and I never stop thinking.
